Lookup Bradford County Inmate Records

Bradford County inmate records are not searched through a county-published online jail roster in the same way many Pennsylvania counties handle current custody lookups. A Bradford County jail roster search has to start with the local correctional facility, then branch to state, federal, immigration, court, and notification systems based on where the person is held. To look up Bradford County inmates online, use the right locator for the custody level and avoid out-of-state results that share the Bradford County name.

Bradford County Jail Records

No official public Bradford County, Pennsylvania jail roster, inmate-search portal, booking report, or mugshot gallery was located on the Bradford County PA official site. The county pages for the Bradford County Correctional Facility publish jail contact information, classification rules, mail rules, phone and commissary instructions, and visitation details, but they do not publish a current list of people in custody. Searches for a Bradford County inmate search can lead to an official Bradford County, Florida sheriff roster. That result is for a different state and should be excluded from a Pennsylvania custody search.

For Bradford County inmate records, the first split is simple. A person recently arrested, awaiting court, serving a county sentence, or assigned to a local work-release unit is most likely a county jail question. A person sentenced to a Pennsylvania state prison is a Pennsylvania Department of Corrections locator question. Federal defendants and sentenced federal inmates use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator or U.S. Marshals routing. Immigration detention uses ICE's Online Detainee Locator System. Court charges after an arrest are searched in Pennsylvania court records, not in a jail roster.

Important: Bradford County PA has no located official online jail roster, so do not rely on Bradford County FL roster results for Pennsylvania custody.

Bradford County Inmate Lookup Steps

The best Bradford County inmate lookup chain starts with the agency most likely to hold the person now. Bradford County Correctional Facility is the county custody point for people booked from Bradford County arrests, people waiting for local court proceedings, county-sentenced inmates, and court-approved work release or community workforce inmates. Because no county roster is posted, direct contact and record requests matter more here than search fields.

  1. Call Bradford County Correctional Facility at 570-297-5047 for a current county-custody inquiry. Staff may limit what they can release, but this is the direct local jail contact.
  2. If the inquiry needs to be made in person, use the correctional facility address: 15927 Route 6, Troy, PA 16947. Do not assume a lobby report is available without calling first.
  3. Use Pennsylvania VINELink for custody-status and release notifications when available. VINELink is useful for alerts, but it is not a county roster replacement.
  4. Search Pennsylvania UJS Case Search for criminal charges, bail actions, docket events, and court dates. A docket can show court activity without proving current jail custody.
  5. Use the Pennsylvania DOC locator after a state-prison sentence or DOC supervision begins. DOC says county-facility inmates do not appear in that locator.
  6. Use BOP, U.S. Marshals, or ICE tools only when the facts point to federal or immigration custody. Those systems do not serve as Bradford County jail records.
  7. For a booking log, booking photo, jail record, or other document not posted online, send a written Right-to-Know request to Bradford County's Open Records Officer.

For court paperwork, the Bradford County Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts page is a separate resource because it maintains criminal and juvenile court records for the Court of Common Pleas. That office is useful for formal docket records, while BCCF is the custody contact. A court docket number, OTN, complaint number, date of arrest, or accurate spelling of the person's name can help route the search.

Bradford County Roster Fields

A normal roster search-field table lists name fields, booking numbers, facility filters, date ranges, and status fields. Bradford County inmate records are different because the official Pennsylvania county site did not publish a public jail roster form to inspect. The table below should stay narrow: it documents the absence of county roster fields rather than inventing a search form that does not exist.

Field LabelTypeRequiredNotes
Not availableNot availableNot availableBradford County PA does not publish an official public jail roster or search form in the located county pages.

State and federal tools do have search fields, but each covers a different custody system. The Pennsylvania DOC locator uses last name or inmate number, with first name helpful for common names. BOP name search includes first, middle, last, race, sex, and age fields. ICE can be searched by A-number or by name with country of birth and birth date. Those fields should not be described as Bradford County jail roster fields.

Bradford County Inmate Profiles

Because Bradford County PA does not publish an official jail roster profile, no public county sample record was available to inspect. That means a public profile should not be promised with a mugshot, booking number, arrest date, charge list, bond amount, housing unit, or projected release date. Some of those facts may exist in jail or court systems, and some may be available by phone, through court records, through VINELink, or by written request. The public-facing county website does not combine them into a searchable roster profile.

FieldWhat It Shows
NameNot available in a public county roster because no Bradford County PA roster was located.
Booking numberNot published in a public county roster field. Ask BCCF or request records if the number is needed.
Booking date or timeNot posted in an official public roster. Court dates may appear in UJS, but booking time is a jail record.
MugshotNot published on an official Bradford County PA jail roster in the located sources.
ChargesUse UJS Case Search or the Clerk of Courts for formal docket charges. Jail intake labels are not posted online.
Bond or bailUse UJS dockets, court contact, or jail contact. Bradford County does not publish roster bond fields online.
Housing unitThe county visitation schedule lists Max, A/B, D, W/R, F, and RHU units, but no public roster housing field is posted.
Classification statusNew inmates may be in classification for up to 10 days and cannot have visits during that period.
Release statusNo public roster release field was found. Use the jail phone, VINELink, DOC, BOP, or ICE based on custody type.

The county's Incarceration Details page adds useful context for a profile search even without a roster. It says new inmates may spend up to 10 days in classification and must see Medical, Mental Health, the Corrections Counselor, and Security Staff. During that time, visits are not allowed, though phone calls can be made. A newly booked person may be in custody even if family cannot yet schedule a visit.

That source supports a cautious approach: classification and contact rules are public, but individual custody records still require direct jail, court, notification, or open-records channels.

Bradford County Custody Systems

Bradford County inmate records can cross several systems after one arrest. A local arrest may start at BCCF, then move through magisterial court, Common Pleas Court, probation, state DOC, federal custody, or immigration custody depending on the case. The main error is searching the wrong system too soon. DOC does not show county jail inmates. BOP does not show county or state inmates. ICE does not show ordinary county custody. UJS dockets show court records, not a jail headcount.

The Bradford County Sheriff's Office, led by Sheriff Clinton J. Walters, is important for warrants, transports, courthouse security, and court orders, but the sheriff page does not publish a county jail roster. The Bradford County PA mobile app is also not a jail roster source in the research. The app store listings describe county documents, events, and municipal information, but no inmate roster feature was located. It can be useful for county information in general, yet custody status should still be checked through BCCF, VINELink, UJS, DOC, BOP, ICE, or a written records request.

Bradford County Jail Facility

Bradford County has one identified adult county detention facility in the facility map. No separate Bradford County municipal jail, regional jail, state prison, federal prison, or ICE detention facility was found in official county research. The W/R Unit named in the visitation schedule is treated as a housing unit inside BCCF, not as a separate facility page.

Bradford County's open-records policy says written requests go to the County Open Records Officer, and public records are available for inspection, retrieval, and duplication at the Bradford County Courthouse during established business hours. The policy gives a five-business-day response deadline and explains that denied or deemed-denied requests may be appealed within 15 business days.

Bradford County Booking Process

Bradford County booking starts with the custody event, then moves into jail intake and Pennsylvania court review. Local police, the sheriff, state police, warrant authorities, or another lawful custodian may bring a person into the county process. At intake, identity and paperwork are checked, property is handled, the person is searched, and an initial booking record is created. Fingerprints, a photograph, medical and mental-health screening, PREA screening, and classification may follow based on jail procedure and the case facts.

BCCF gives one strong local timing fact: an inmate can be in classification for up to 10 days. The person must see Medical, Mental Health, the Corrections Counselor, and Security Staff before moving out of that phase. Phone calls are allowed during classification, but visits are not. The facility's PREA policy also describes intake and transfer risk screening within 72 hours, then reassessment within 30 days when new information is received.

Booking
Jail intake where identity, custody paperwork, property, fingerprints, photo, and initial records may be created.
Classification
Jail review that helps assign housing, custody level, medical or mental-health referral, visits, and security restrictions.
Detainer
A hold from another agency or case that can delay release even when local bail is posted.
OTN
An Offense Tracking Number used in Pennsylvania criminal-case processing. It is a court identifier, not a jail roster field.

Arrest to booking to preliminary arraignment to county jail to state DOC transfer is a common flow, but not every case follows each step. If a case moves to state prison after sentencing, Bradford County jail staff may no longer have current location details, and the DOC locator becomes the better search tool.

Bradford County Visitation Records

Visitation is tied to housing unit and classification status, so a public roster would not be enough by itself even if one existed. The Bradford County visitor information page says inmates must call visitors to set up visit times. Visitors should not call the jail asking for those times because the information will not be given out. Visitors must sign in and out, present photo identification, and follow strict property and clothing rules.

The official visitation schedule is organized by unit. The D Unit Monday entry includes an unusual long block in the research and should be confirmed before travel. New inmates in classification are not allowed visits for up to 10 days, which is a key reason to verify status before making a trip.

Bradford County Jail Contact

Mail, telephone access, and commissary rules are part of a practical Bradford County inmate records search because they help confirm whether the person is in county custody and what system applies. Personal mail is routed through Smart Communications, not straight to the Route 6 facility. The county mail page gives this format: Smart Communications/Bradford County Correctional Facility, Inmate Name/Permanent Number, P.O. Box 9214, Seminole, FL 33775-9195. A return address with the sender's first and last name is required or the letter will be returned.

BCCF says inmates may receive one package of up to five books per month from the approved publishers list only, and used books are not permitted. Family and friends may not bring property into the facility. The incarceration-details page says money orders by mail are accepted, but cash and personal checks are not accepted by mail. The facility is tobacco-free, and inmates found with tobacco can face criminal charges.

The official mail page screenshot shows the Smart Communications address format used for Bradford County inmate mail.

That mail routing matters because sending mail to the wrong address can delay or return correspondence even when the person is correctly identified as a BCCF inmate.

Bradford County RTKL Requests

When Bradford County inmate records are not posted online, the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law process is the formal records path. Bradford County's policy designates Michelle Shedden as County Open Records Officer at 301 Main Street, Towanda, PA 18848, phone 570-265-1727, fax 570-265-1729, and email sheddenm@bradfordcountypa.gov. Requests must be in writing and should identify the record sought, such as a booking log excerpt, jail record, or other existing county document.

The county policy says paper copies are 25 cents per page per side, certification is $1.00 per record, specialized documents and non-standard copies are actual cost, postage is charged when mailing is requested, and prepayment is required. A Right-to-Know request asks for records; it is not the right way to ask general questions or seek legal advice. Jail, court, juvenile, expunged, sealed, investigative, and criminal-history limits may apply.

Criminal-history rules can affect what is released. Pennsylvania's Right-to-Know Law creates the request process, while CHRIA governs criminal-history record information and dissemination. For a current custody check, call the facility first. For a record that exists but is not posted, file the written request with enough detail to let the county locate it.

Bradford County DOC Federal ICE

State prison, federal prison, and immigration custody should be separated from Bradford County jail records. The Pennsylvania DOC locator is updated daily and is meant for state-sentenced inmates and parolees. DOC says a person incarcerated in a county facility cannot be found using that locator. The direct DOC app may work best with a last name or inmate number, and first name can help when the last name is common. DOC also warns that some personal information can be self-reported and not independently verified.

The direct PA DOC locator screenshot is a state-prison locator source, not a Bradford County jail roster source.

Bradford County inmate records Pennsylvania DOC locator

Use it after a Bradford County case results in DOC custody or supervision, but keep county jail calls and VINELink in the chain for local custody questions.

BOP covers federal inmates from 1982 to the present. It is not a Pennsylvania county jail database. Federal pretrial defendants may be handled through U.S. Marshals arrangements in the Middle District of Pennsylvania and may not appear in a local public roster. ICE's locator can be searched by A-number or by name, country of birth, and birth date for people in ICE custody or in CBP custody for more than 48 hours. Neither BOP nor ICE is a mugshot gallery for Bradford County inmate records.

Note: When custody level is unclear, start with BCCF for local custody, then move to UJS, DOC, BOP, ICE, and RTKL in that order.
